Perfect Chinese and Cuban food. Probably the best in NYC. The steak and special fried rice is the best. And the portions are amazing.

What a hidden gem! This is their second location in Astoria Park and they recently renovated as Nueva Victoria. They serve both Spanish and Chinese cuisine, a combo that's not common but done so well. I was with a large group of people and was able to try a lot of their offerings; everything was so good but the highlights for me were the lobster in garlic oil, green beans, house special fried rice, broiled shrimp, and the oxtail stew. But honestly you can't go wrong here all the dishes were delicious! Everything was cooked perfectly and had the perfect flavor. We were immediately seated on a Saturday night and the staff were all very friendly. Interior was updated, cleanly, and the seating consisted of large comfy plush booths. Can't wait to come back and try more!

Now newly renovated as Nueva Victoria!! Best Chinese food outside of Chinatown! The tasty food is definitely the star but the friendly staff and comfortable booths make it fun place to be. Full Chinese menu and Spanish/Latin menu - both cuisines done to perfection. Great place to go even for cocktails and appetizers. The higher prices get you better quality food, generous portions and all the extras. Can we talk lobsters? Happens to be my favorite and their new live lobster tank is a great feature. I am a purist and prefer it steamed with just a squeeze of lemon. They do offer many tempting combinations to choose from. Worth mentioning that I no longer struggle cooking lobster at home when entertaining - I call Nueva and have them steamed or broiled and delivered. First class in all areas. It is the perfect way to start the week or enjoy a mid-week treat and let's not forget the weekends!! Cheers to the best restaurant in Astoria!! Note: liquor license is pending so the virgin strawberry daquiri or virgin pina colada are the fun choices for now.

I came here before it was renovated and I enjoyed the food. Now that it's renovated I love it even more! The restaurant is now called Nueva Victoria! The food is always fresh and delicious. The service is great and the waiters are very attentive! I love that they speak Spanish as well because Queens is known for having a lot of Hispanics. Their bathroom is always clean and I never have to worry about anything while dining here. I always get the Palomilla steak with fried rice with either pork or shrimp/veggies. I have tried their chicharron de pollo and their porkchops and of course it wasn't a let down. If you want non greasy, tasty and delicious cuban Chinese food then this is the place for you in Queens!

Saturday night dinner with the family; seated right away. Food was delicious and service was even better. My favorite was probably the clams with bacon! Second would be the steak that's not pictured.

Ordered: Pollo Frito Deshuesado aka Boneless Fried Chicken (~$19): with shrimp fried rice (+$2) and fried plantains Diet Coke (~$2) Aya's take: I was intrigued by the Chinese/Cuban fusion and after having Nuevo Jardin de China on my radar for a while, I finally made myself here. The real reason is I was craving an insane cheat meal and they really understood the assignment. They provided complimentary wonton chips with sweet & sour sauce and bread & butter. Very strange combination. On to the main dish! The fried chicken was crispy, juicy, but a little too salty. It was also very greasy - obviously it's fried chicken but they could have removed the excess oil before plating it. Same thing with the plantains. Super tasty with a good balance of sweet and savory but a bit too greasy for my liking. The shrimp fried rice was perfect! One of the best I've had honestly. Overall, it was such a satisfying meal and definitely put me to sleep soon after.
